The 81st ESCAP Commission Session - Afternoon Plenary (Day 2) (Bangkok, Thailand).


The eighty-first session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) will be held from 21 to 25 April 2025 at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok. Guided by the theme "Regional cooperation for resilient and sustainable urban development in Asia and the Pacific", the eighty-first session will be an opportunity to foster inclusive urban growth and promote steadfast action for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels.

 Theme:  Keeping the promise on sustainable development in times of uncertainty - The United Nations development system delivering for results (20-22 May 2025). Dialogue with the Deputy Secretary-General on the UNSDG Chair's report on the Development Coordination Office and the Resident Coordinator system. The OAS meets annually to provide overall coordination and guidance to the governing bodies of the United Nations development system. The Segment reinforces the linkages between policy and operational functions while continuing to  focus on improving the overall impact of operational activities for development of the United Nations system in support of issues relating to national development priorities .
