Parallel event on Financing Social Protection at the margins of the Third Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on the United Nations Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation.
The International Labour Organization (ILO) is pleased to convene a parallel event to the Third Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on the United Nations Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation on the theme of financing social protection . Invited experts will share insights on why the UN Tax Convention process presents a unique opportunity to boost the political will to mobilize additional government revenues to finance social protection. This parallel event will give the opportunity to Member States to exchange on the global, regional and national commitments on social protection financing necessary to expand the fiscal space for social protection. Panelists will share with participants national practices and collaborative approaches that have worked to expand social protection coverage and how to ensure that workers and employers contribute to social security, including for workers working remotely across borders and digital nomads.
